Writing a blog post on your website
Writing a blog post for your website is a great way to generate traffic and improve your Google search results if done right
The first thing you need to think about is a relevant topic for your post.
Write about something related directly or indirectly to your services or products. Don’t try to include everything in one all-encompassing article as you’re likely to lack focus and use up all your article ideas in one blog post!
Think about what you know best and write about your experiences and passion.
If your customers are asking questions about a particular aspect of your business write a comprehensive article about it and then next time the topic comes up direct your visitors to your blog post also.
This is an excellent way to provide additional information and help your customers.

Writing quality content
If your blog post serves a specific purpose and is aimed at helping your customers achieve success or derive a benefit then the quality and relevance of your post are easier to achieve.
Always include 1 image within your blog post and make sure it has a relevant ALT tag and caption.
As a guide, I’d always aim at having at least 300 words or more. This is generally recommended by specialists in the field and many advocate a well-written post containing 450 words.
Including your keywords and phrases within your blog post
Make sure that you include the title of your blog post within the text 2 or 3 times. I’d also look to include generic keywords related to your business in general.
Ideas on publishing and publicising your new blog post
Once you’ve finished your blog post there are some important steps to take before publishing it.
- Proofread it carefully for grammatical errors
- Spell-check our blog post carefully
- Get a friend or colleague to read it and listen to their feedback
- Make any changes needed and then publish it on your website
Ideas on publicising your blog post
There are many ways to do this but let’s just consider perhaps the easiest way.
Create a Facebook post on your business’s Facebook page and include an image and a short snippet of information about your blog post.
Then include a read-more link directly to your blog post on your website.
