Resize with no additional software - Option 1
Windows Vista has a handy feature for resizing your images without the need for additional software.
- Locate the image you want to resize
- Right click on it's icon
- Scroll down to Send To
- In the popup meenu choose Mail Recipient
- Choose a size
- Click attach
- Find the attachment in your open email
- Righ click on it and choose save as.
This will allow you to save the resized image anywhere on your computer.
Resize with Windows Powertoys - Option 2
Windows Powertoys are handy, free pieces of software from Microsoft. The program is small and allows you to quick and easily resize your pictures.
You can download the software here
Choose your version of Windows Vista (either 32 or 64 bit). Run the install program and accept the default settings to complete installation.
Resizing Images
- Find your image and right click on its icon.
- Choose 'Resize Pictures' from the menu
- Choose Medium
- Click on Advanced button for more settings
- Click OK to resize your image
Images will be stored in the same location as the original.
Our Recommendations
Before choosing attach, select the size small (800x600), this is perfect for most web uploads such as galleries and shop images which will find it less demanding to create thumbnails etc with an image of this size.
