The domain name will be registered in your name.

There are NO charges should you wish to move to another company at any time in the future. Many companies actually charge you if you want to move.

When you are ready to build your web site, your domain name will be there for you.

If you decide to move your domain name somewhere else, there will be no charge from DoodleIT.

Forwarding 1 domain name to another?

To setup an automatic forward to another domain, perhaps where your site is hosted add £5.00.

Choosing the best domain name

We always recommend a .co.uk domain name for commerce websites targeting the UK market.

This is because firstly they are cheaper, but most importantly because they do better with the major search engines when targeting the UK market.

We would also advise you where possible to pick a domain name that contains the same word or phrase that is also one of your key targeted phrases for search engines.

So if you sell saddles, your domain name would be much better if it were www.saddles.co.uk rather than www.mycompanyname.co.uk.

You could always register both? Host your website on www.saddles.co.uk then point www.mycompanyname.co.uk to www.saddles.co.uk just in case. You then get the best of both worlds.

Hyphens in domain names!

As far as hyphens go there are a lot of opinions out there.

Use only 1 hyphen if it's needed, consider registering the alternative domain name too. To prevent sending customers to the opposition.

Search engines read hyphenated names better, humans don't and the room for typing error is greater especially if your marketing campaign involves plastering your domain name on printed ads etc.

However, most people will find you through a search engine anyway, so does the hyphen really matter?

You see what I mean, it can be complicated.
